Wessex Water has awarded a contract for the supply of aggregates, asphalt and concrete worth an estimated £12.5 million.

The contract covers the supply of varying quantities of aggregates, asphalt and ready mixed concrete for the water company’s construction and operational maintenance requirements across its region.

Estimated total final value of the contract, which will run for up to six years, is £12.5 million.

Locally based firms Hanson Quarry Products Ltd, Hopkins Concrete Ltd, S Morris Ltd, Tarmac Trading Ltd and John Wainwright & Co Ltd have all been appointed to the contract – eleven companies wre in the bidding for the work.
